A.R. Mazzotta is partnering with a well-established manufacturer to hire a Supply Chain Buyer / Planner. In this direct hire role, you'll help drive purchasing, production planning, inventory management, and supplier performance to keep manufacturing running efficiently.

Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Source raw materials, finished goods, packaging, and outsourced services to support production.
- Develop sourcing strategies and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements to reduce costs while ensuring dependable supply.
- Build long-term supplier relationships that support consistent quality, reliable deliveries, and future product innovation.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues involving pricing, quality, or delivery.
- Establish purchasing procedures and maintain accurate product information within the ERP system.
Production Planning & Inventory Management
- Create and maintain production schedules that align with customer demand, manufacturing capacity, and work orders.
- Coordinate material releases to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time customer deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages while minimizing excess inventory.
- Review demand forecasts and adjust purchasing and production schedules as business needs evolve.
- Track inventory discrepancies, make adjustments, and prepare inventory reports.
Collaboration, Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to maintain accurate ERP/MRP data, Bills of Materials (BOMs), item records, and supplier information.
- Support supplier quality initiatives and communicate corrective actions to vendors.
- Prepare reports measuring purchasing performance, cost savings, inventory, and production metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, supplier performance, inventory management, and overall supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures, SOPs, and licensing requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Buyer, Production Planner, Materials Planner, Purchasing Agent, Supply Chain Planner, or ERP/MRP Coordinator within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven success negotiating with suppliers and managing purchasing activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), inventory management, production planning, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
