Programs & Operations Manager – Non-Profit Environmental Organization

Up to $55,000 | Direct Hire | Connecticut

A Connecticut-based non-profit focused on environmental education and community engagement is seeking a Programs & Operations Manager to oversee operations, marketing, and grant initiatives. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys diverse responsibilities and mission-driven work.

About the Organization:

The organization runs a variety of educational and community programs each year, including workshops, speaker events, film viewings, and family-oriented activities. It provides grants, scholarships, and awards to support environmental initiatives and offers office and meeting space to local groups and community organizations.

Key Responsibilities of the Programs & Operations Manager:

Manage daily operations and administrative tasks
Lead marketing, communications, and social media efforts
Support grant writing, tracking, and reporting
Plan and coordinate events and educational programs
Build relationships with donors, partners, and volunteers
Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives

Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience in operations or management
Non-profit experience
Strong marketing, writing, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
Interest in environmental issues
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, Publisher, Canva, and donor database systems
Experience with WordPress, Constant Contact, MailChimp, and social media platforms
Basic videography skills are a plus
Associate’s degree or higher
