Job Description
Part-Time Payroll Assistant (Contract-to-Hire)
New London, CT | $21–$24 per hour | 24 hours/week
New London, CT | $21–$24 per hour | 24 hours/week
We’re working with a New London–area company to find a detail-oriented Part-Time Payroll Assistant to support payroll, tracking, and general office operations. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a consistent weekday schedule.
Schedule
- Monday: Full day
- Tuesday–Friday: Half days
- Total: Approximately 24 hours per week
- Pay: $21–$24 per hour, based on experience
- Working on-site
Payroll Responsibilities
- Review employee timecards for accuracy
- Manual entry of timecards into payroll system
- Track and maintain PTO (paid time off) records
- Maintain and update spreadsheets
- Track fleet maintenance and service needs
- Schedule service appointments for vehicles/equipment
- Assist with job costing
- Provide general payroll and administrative support
Qualifications
- Previous payroll or administrative experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable with manual data entry and spreadsheets (Excel)
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Experience with job costing or fleet tracking is a plus
