Job Description
A well-established contracting company in the Wallingford, CT area, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & HR Administrator to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is available due to an upcoming retirement and offers a great opportunity for a long-term position with the company.
Key Responsibilities for this Payroll & HR Administrator:
- Serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls.
- Utilize QuickBooks for weekly payroll processing, invoicing, and financial tasks.
- Handle certified payroll.
- AIA Billing
- CHRO compliance
- DAS prequalification’s
- Benefit administration including 401K processing
- General human resources functions
- Manage general office duties, including filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Use Microsoft Word and Excel for administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Background in human resource management and payroll processing.
- Certified payroll processing experience is a plus.
- QuickBooks experience is required, candidates without it will not be considered.
- Strong computer skills, including QuickBooks, Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Knowledge of health insurance administration and employee benefits is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in construction or a related industry is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $25 – $30/hour (based on experience).
- Health insurance & 401(k) offered upon permanent hire.
- Flexible schedule options: Choose between 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
