Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented individual with basic computer skills and a strong commitment to accuracy? Do you enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions? We have a new contract opening for a Meter Reader in the East Windsor area. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate utility billing and maintaining essential services to the community.
- $18 per hour, plus benefits package.
- Contract with potential of hire. Full time day hours, Monday – Friday.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently read utility meters as assigned.
- Record meter readings using handheld devices.
- Report and document any irregularities, damages or discrepancies in meter readings or equipment.
- Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely readings.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents or property owners.
- Report any unsafe conditions or hazards encountered during meter reading.
Qualifications:
- Physically able to walk several miles.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow established procedures and guidelines.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
