Meter Reader - East Windsor

Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented individual with basic computer skills and a strong commitment to accuracy? Do you enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions? We have a new contract opening for a Meter Reader in the East Windsor area. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate utility billing and maintaining essential services to the community.

$18 per hour, plus benefits package.
Contract with potential of hire. Full time day hours, Monday – Friday.

Key responsibilities:
  • Accurately and efficiently read utility meters as assigned.
  • Record meter readings using handheld devices.
  • Report and document any irregularities, damages or discrepancies in meter readings or equipment.
  • Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely readings. 
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents or property owners.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or hazards encountered during meter reading.
Qualifications:
  • Physically able to walk several miles.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and guidelines.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
