Job Description
Direct hire opportunity working for a manufacturer that specializes in precision manufacturing solutions. They are dedicated to delivering high-quality products to their customers across various industries. They are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead MasterCAM Programmer – Engineering to join their dedicated team.
$125K, depending on skills and level of experience. Company is in the Wallingford area.
As the Lead MasterCAM Programmer – Engineer, you will play a critical role in the organization, overseeing a small engineering department, utilizing your expertise in MasterCAM and SolidWorks, and leveraging your extensive experience in CNC machining. This is an opportunity to lead a team and contribute to the success of a dynamic company.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Lead and manage a small engineering team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and accurately.
- MasterCAM Programming: Utilize your advanced knowledge of MasterCAM to program and optimize CNC machines for milling, turning, and lathe operations, meeting the highest quality and efficiency standards.
- SolidWorks: Collaborate with the design team and engineers to convert CAD models into precise machining programs and provide input on design modifications for manufacturability.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance processes and implement best practices in CNC machining to increase productivity and reduce lead times.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the final products meet or exceed customer specifications, maintaining strict quality control standards.
- Machine Expertise: Work with a variety of machines, including vertical mills, turning machines, and lathes, and provide expertise in optimizing operations on these machines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machining programs, machine setups, and tooling used for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a MasterCAM programmer with a strong background in CNC machining.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD/CAM software.
- Experience with vertical milling machines, turning machines, and lathes.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
