Job Description

A.R. Mazzotta has partnered with a global manufacturing leader in the Torrington area who is in search of a CNC Machine Set-up / Operator with experience specifically working on Grinding Machines. This position is responsible for setting up and operating both mechanical and CNC machines along with their robotics and automated accessories.

2nd shift opening with training on 1st. $18 - $19.80 per hour, depending on shift. Contract to hire.

As a CNC Grinding Machinist, you will play a critical role in the production process. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Grinding Machines to produce high-precision components that meet their quality standards. 

This is a hands-on position that requires expertise in CNC machinery, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to producing top-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up CNC grinding machines by selecting the appropriate tools, fixtures, and grinding wheels.
  • Program, adjust, and optimize machine settings to ensure precise and efficient operation.
  • Load and unload workpieces into the machine.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect any deviations from specifications.
  • Adjust machines to maintain product quality and meet production targets.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure they operate smoothly.
  • Inspect finished components for quality and make any necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a CNC Grinding Machine Set-up Operator.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC Grinding Machines.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
