Job Description
A.R. Mazzotta is seeking an Estimator & Proposal Manager for a direct hire opportunity in the Wallingford area, CT working in the construction industry.
This full-time role offers a competitive salary of $65,000 to $90,000 per year, along with medical and retirement benefits. The position involves leading and preparing competitive construction bids, estimates, and qualification packages while collaborating with senior leadership.
The ideal candidate has experience reviewing architectural drawings, identifying project scopes, and obtaining vendor pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Factor schedules, logistics, and productivity into pricing.
- Communicate project scope with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop subcontractor and vendor work scopes.
- Solicit, analyze, and compare vendor quotations.
- Research construction methods, materials, and costs.
- Prepare and edit proposals, qualification packages, and marketing materials.
- Ensure proposal quality, branding, and formatting consistency.
- Support interview and presentation preparations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience.
- 3+ years of construction estimating experience.
- Strong understanding of construction documents and drawings.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Highly organized with strong math, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience with estimating software and CRM systems is a plus.
