Job Description
Part-Time Accounting Specialist – Middletown Public Service Department
Are you an experienced accounting professional with strong administrative skills looking for a part-time role? A public service department in Middletown is hiring an Accounting Specialist for a contract to hire, part-time position.
Hours: 3 days a week, 16 hours per week. Must be available to work regular day hours.
Pay: $20 - $22 per hour, based on experience.
In this role, you’ll utilize your accounting expertise and administrative know-how in a small office setting. Key responsibilities include:
Accounting Duties:
- Manage monthly payroll and applicable tax reporting.
- Prepare quarterly & yearly tax reports.
- Handle accounts payable
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including income vs. expenditures.
- Reconcile bank statements and investment accounts
- Record and manage receipts
Administrative & Customer Service Duties:
- Provide general administrative support.
- Answer and direct phone calls.
- Assist customers with payments and inquiries.
- Prepare correspondence (letters, emails, etc.)
- Manage filing and data entry.
