Our client in the Waterbury area has a need for an Accounting Assistant to provide their team with administrative support. Position has nice growth potential for the right person.

Hours: Monday – Friday, flexible between 9am – 3pm.

$20.00 per hour. Contract to hire.

Requirements
  • Experience working with QuickBooks
  • Prior experience working in a professional office environment
  • Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Accounting degree or equivalent on the job accounting experience
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic administrative skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Excellent professional communication skills
  • Good with numbers
  • Ability to learn new software programs with ease
  • Willingness to assist owner and office manager where needed
Accounting Responsibilities
  • Assist with accounts receivable (invoicing and billing)
  • Basic QuickBooks entries
  • Processing credit card payments
  • Assisting customers with billing questions, payments, and general information
  • Providing general administrative support for the office
