Job Description
New opportunity in the New Haven area for a part-time Accountant! This Connecticut based non-profit has been bringing social awareness revolving around diversity and inclusion to the forefront for nearly 30 years.
Contract to hire, $25 - $30 per hour, based on experience, plus benefits.
Requirements for this Accountant / Bookkeeper role:
- Accounting or Business Degree
- QuickBooks or similar accounting software experience
- Minimum 2 years accounting / bookkeeping experience
- Strong understand of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience handling all accounting activities listed under responsibilities
Responsibilities of the part-time accountant include:
- Prepare and review financial statements
- Process account receivables (A/R)
- Process account payables (A/P)
- Prepare for financial audits
- Tax Preparation
- Process payroll
- Profit and loss tracking
- General ledger entries
- Track vacation accruals
- Track expenses
