Job Description

Part-Time Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Accountant to support a small, close-knit accounting office located near Chester, CT. This role supports daily accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative functions and is well suited for someone who enjoys variety in a small-office environment.

This is a part-time position (approximately 20–25 hours per week) paying $32.95 per hour, with flexibility and the opportunity for additional hours during busier periods such as tax season or month-end closings.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, payments, and follow-up
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Enter and maintain financial data in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
Assist with payroll processing and related reporting
Prepare basic financial reports and support month-end, year-end, and tax-related activities
Maintain organized and confidential financial records
Provide general administrative and clerical support as needed

Qualifications

Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping
Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to maintain confidentiality in a small-office setting
Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently
