Plater – Chemical Processing – 2nd shift
Location: Torrington, CT
Shift: Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Training: Must be available to train on 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) for approximately 3 months

We are hiring a Plater – Chemical Processing for a high-priority, temp-to-perm 2nd shift role in Torrington, CT. This position supports critical chemical plating and passivation operations and offers long-term potential for the right candidate. Ideal for individuals with plating, chemical processing, manufacturing, or production experience, or those looking to grow in a hands-on industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor chemical processing and plating lines
- Perform Citric & Nitric Passivation, Chromate, and Zinc-Nickel plating
- Load and unload parts using baskets, barrels, racks, and fixtures
- Clean, rinse, dry, bake, label, and containerize parts as required
- Adjust processing parameters within allowable limits
- Monitor gauges and equipment; stop lines when issues arise
- Perform pre-, in-, and post-process inspections to verify conformance
- Maintain accurate production records, method sheets, and paperwork
- Ensure part and batch traceability throughout the process
- Assist with chemical adds under direction of solution analysis personnel
- Mask parts for plating as required
- Maintain a safe, clean work area; follow PPE and 5S standards
- Support utility and general shop duties as needed
Qualifications
- Plating or chemical processing experience preferred
- Manufacturing or production experience a plus
- Ability to read, write, and follow English instructions
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work safely with chemicals and industrial equipment
- Forklift and hoist experience a plus (training available)
- Reliable attendance and strong safety awareness
- Willingness to train on 1st shift prior to transitioning to 2nd shift
